Summer is by far my favorite time of year! I thrive on no routine, sleeping in, not knowing what day of the week it is. I think I was born for island living.
Our oldest daughter just finished Pre-K. Her school sent home a summer reading list, and at the top it said “Dumber in the Summer.” Yikes. I have no idea what the rest of the paper said. That line was all I needed. I decided to make a reading plan for myself and for the kids this summer.
Our youngest loves Paw Patrol, and has tons of Paw Patrol books she loves to read. Our oldest , however, likes to read a book three or four times, then move on to something completely different.
Our oldest daughter will make an amazing adult one day. She is kindhearted and extremely smart. One thing we are focusing on this summer is helping her become more confident. These books all focus on this. They also hold her attention, have simple sentences, and she really likes them so I’m not having to make her listen (if you have a five-year-old girl , you know that can be a challenge).
So friends, here is our summer reading list for our girls! (Plus Paw Patrol). I will also be adding my reading list for myself soon!
The Rainbow Fish
Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes
5 Minute Princess Stories
Paw Patrol 5 Minute Stories Collection
Fancy Nancy: Sand Castles and Sand Palaces
