Several have asked how Selah is doing, so I wanted

Several have asked how Selah is doing, so I wanted to give an update. Long story short- she’s doing great and it’s complicated. 🙃
She finished her Lyme disease medicine about a month ago. After about 3-4 weeks, she started making huge progress and feeling the best we’ve even her in a long time. Once that round of antibiotics was complete, she was retested for Lyme and it was negative. I’m not sure how that works as far as testing positive and then negative, or if it will return, etc. So that’s where it gets a little complicated.
Her next (and hopefully final) step happened today. She had her tonsils removed today- but not for typical reasons of tonsils being enlarged. She has something called Cryptic tonsils. From what I understand, this means they are dying and have holes in them. Because of the holes, they are keeping bacteria and infection trapped inside. The doctors are hoping they removing them (and her adenoids) will help remove trapped infection and also keep her from being sick so frequently.
Thanks to all for checking on her and praying for her! She’s doing great recovering from surgery so far. 🙏🙏

If I can be honest, life has been kind if sucky la

If I can be honest, life has been kind if sucky lately.
Our middle child has been sick for about two years, and last week we found out she has Lyme disease.
The meds are very difficult on her body, and they’ve made her go from being very sick and weak to boarder-line dehabilitating.
The only thing worse than being sick is watching your child be sick- with no promise of improvement any time soon.
If I can be honest- in this moment, I don’t like that these are the circumstances. I’m sad for her and I haven’t moved past the sadness phase yet. And the best thing my friends have done for me through this is to cry along side me, and let me be sad. And I’m thankful for that.
Because we can grieve and trust God at the same time, I would love to ask for for prayers for her healing. Prayers for her healing and strength in her everyday- day to day moments. Because what me and her both need right now is prayer for daily bread. Daily strength, and daily progress.
