I can’t believe the Christmas season has officially begun! We kicked the season off early by spending the day before Thanksgiving in Nashville at the Opryland Hotel. It was the kids and my first time to see the hotel, the lights and the decorations. We were blown away. It was much fun! Some kind stranger took this amazing picture of us.
This is my favorite time of year for so many reasons! I love the candy canes and hot chocolate, tacky Christmas sweaters, placing our special ornaments on our tree, and making new memories each year. Above everything else, one of my favorite things about the Christmas season is celebrating Advent with our kids.
We recently moved and lost our Advent calendar, so we made a new one this year. I had plans of making it exactly how I wanted it. So did my five-year-old. I let her take over because she is actually much more artistic than me. I’m glad I did, because love how it turned out.
Each year we do an Advent reading plan together, along with fun activities. This year we are reading through the Jesus Storybook Bible together each night. You can see our reading plan here.
Our Advent calendar is full fun activities. The list of activities is up now in the Resource Library so you can print it out and have fun with your kids! I will be adding several other fun things throughout the Advent season, so make sure to check it out!
