I’ve been revamping my morning Bible study routine. With three kiddos who wake up early, I need a set routine every morning. I’ve learned having a set routine helps me save time and focus. Below are some tips and tricks I’ve learned to help me get the most out of my morning Bible study time.
Have a reading plan
One thing I’ve realized is I love going slow through each chapter and really processing things. This isn’t for everyone, and I’ve changed this for different seasons. Before you choose your routine, ask yourself if you want to learn a lot more about a certain book, or a little more about several different chapters. This will help you select a plan.
In Depth Chapter Plan
I love using Kay Author Bible studies. She has studies for each book of the Bible.
Several Chapters at a Time Plan
When I’m reading several chapters at a time, I always use the YouVersion One Year Bible reading plan.
Use a journal you love
I love journaling. And journals. Journals from the Daily Grace Co are my favorite. They also have fantastic pens with great words on them.
I’m not a morning person, so waking up to a beautiful journal gives me little boost. ?

Use a Study Bible
My favorite Bible to use is the ESV Study Bible. It has easy to read commentary, maps, detailed context and history before each chapter begins, and information about each author.
This information makes reading the Bible much easier. Without context, it can be difficult to understand. This Bible provides that so you can have better understanding of everything.

Have a Designated Time and Place Everyday
Part of having a great routine is having a great system. With a great system, valuable time energy aren’t wasted deciding where to sit every morning.
A routine gets your mind in a habit. The more you do it, the easier it will get!
Be Consistent
We have three daughters. My Bible Study routine looks different now than it did before our first daughter was born.
There are seasons in life you will need to adjust your routine. In those seasons, don’t give up. Find something that works-even if it’s very simple- and remain consistent. It’s easier to recover from resting than from quitting.

Wow that was odd. I just wrote an extremely long comment but after I clicked submit my comment didn’t show up. Grrrr… well I’m not writing all that over again. Anyhow, just wanted to say wonderful blog!
I’ve never heard of the Daily Grace Co cannot wait to check it out!
I hope you love it!!!
Kristin, what a great, practical post! Love your points and tips. Thanks! Planning to share this to the InstaEncouragements FB page on Saturday. 🙂 Thank you!
Thank you so much! I appreciate that and your kind words!
I love these tips. They are simple, but yet so often we make our time in God’s Word too complicated, don’t we? Thank you for these reminders. 🙂
Wonderful work! This is the kind of info that should be shared around the internet. Shame on the search engines for now not positioning this submit higher! Come on over and visit my web site . Thanks =)
I have been surfing on-line greater than 3 hours as of late, but I never discovered
any interesting article like yours. It’s beautiful worth enough
for me. Personally, if all web owners and bloggers made
just right content as you did, the internet will be a lot more helpful
than ever before.
